Bart Scheffel, Managing Partner
Mr. Scheffel has eighteen years of public accounting and financial management consulting experience. He joined Glass Jacobson as a Senior Accountant in 1984 and is now a partner in the firm. Mr. Scheffel’s areas of concentration include construction, real estate, hospitality, and wholesale distribution accounting. He is also a Certified Valuation Analyst.
Mr. Scheffel has extensive experience in the accounting side of government contracting for small businesses. His recent experience includes working with Capitano Consulting to assist an 8(a) construction firm modify and refine their system for capturing direct, indirect, general, and administrative costs to increase the competitiveness of their cost proposals. Mr. Scheffel is a current member of the Association of Builders and Contractors.
In 1994, he was instrumental in identifying the need for a Construction Committee within the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA). In addition, Mr. Scheffel has developed and presented internal CPE courses on Governmental Accounting topics.
Mr. Scheffel also has extensive small business financial management consulting experience. He has worked for the past eleven years with the owners of a franchise restaurant chain that has grown from one to ten locations. Mr. Scheffel has tracked, quantified, and monitored the financial and management information that has significantly impacted the overall growth of the franchise.
Mr. Scheffel also heads up Glass Jacobson’s Quality Control effort to ensure firm compliance with all professional accounting standards. Under his direction as Quality Control Director, Glass Jacobson has received three (3) Unqualified Opinions over the past eleven (11) years. Mr. Scheffel has been quoted as a professional source and has authored several articles that have appeared in The Daily Record and the CPA Statement.
